Hi everybody
I'm a 18 year old girl from the Netherlands and i want to start a chiropractic education in the United States in the fall of 2007. The coming year will be my final year of highschool in the Netherlands.
I would like to know which chiropractic colleges are the best ones, and why. I've allready looked at a few colleges online, like the Life West college in CA and the Southern California University of Health Sciences. I would like to go to college in CA, but anywhere else is fine too, I'd just like to get in the best college possible. What colleges/universities do you reccomend? And what should i look for in a good school?
Thanks for your help,
Muriel

I went to Life in Atlanta....and it did prepare me well for my professional career....Texas has 2 colleges that are both very good and I have met chiropractors from both that are doing well.....good luck in your endevors.....

I'm out here in California, and thinking about where to go myself. I asked the various chiropractors I know about where to go. All of the schools they talk about are in CA

Graduated from Cleavland (in Los Angeles, CA), considered LACC but felt that was where you went if you couldn't get into medical school (not a good thing, in her opinion), from taking continuing education classes, she would go with Life West in Hayward if she had it to do over.

Graduated from Life West, recommended it over Palmer. Most recent graduate questioned, about 7? years ago.

Started at Palmer, switched to Life West, recommends Life West.

Where do you think you want to practice? You probably want to get your 4 year degree as well (some US states require it, and that you get it before you get your DC, there are ways to fake it).

I got woken up in the middle of the night, excuse my abuse of the english language.

With Live West or Palmer, you get to be in the San Francisco bay area, a truly wonderful place to be. I have spent most of my life in the South Bay, near Palmer, but I am coming to like the east bay (Life West) more and more, plus there is better public transit (well, in some ways, you have BART (electric urban trains) to get you into San Francisco).

I guess Life West will be my first pick then. My chiro told me Palmer might be a bad idea beacuse it's not accredited (sp?) in Europe, and is a school of less quality.
thanks! :)

Interesting. Palmer has (or so I hear) a better rate of people passing the California exam, but Life West is better for running a practice. Palmer seems to be more legalistic, more do it our one true way.

You certainly do want a DC that is good everywhere.

wauw, thanks a lot!
I allready asked my chiropractor, and he tought Life West and LACC were the best schools in CA, but also said he didn't know for sure as he did his education in England.
I want to practise in the Netherlands, but we don't have a college that gives chiropractic studies here. So I'm going to do the 4-year degree and then I'm going to finish the last year in the Netherlands, because they do have a special program for that.
I'm so glad Life West comes out on top of the list, because I really love the Bay Area :)
Thanks again for your help! ^_^

Parker College

I love it here at Parker! I've been here for about 3 years, just getting ready to graduate. I started at Palmer in davenport, but didn't like the curriculum, instructors, facilities, etc. I am going to be the 11 chiropractor in my family, and my brothers and sisters have been to most of the schools. We all agree, Parker is the best place to get a chiropractic education. We get a bunch of transfer students every trimester from all over the country. There are so many great things happening here. I will totally miss it when I'm done.

Eduaction over climate

If you want the best education possible and have a desire to be more than just a back cracker then there is no doubt that National University is the best place to go, but, its near Chicago and gets cold in the winter.
